February is Healthy Heart Month
Hundreds of Family Practice chiropractors will be donating their services in conjunction with National American Heart Month throughout the month of February. Chiropractors across the country will be uniting to provide free health services, spinal screenings and consultations in an effort to promote healthy hearts and lifestyles in their communities.
As part of this observance, Grifall Family Chiropractic will join many of the nation’s over 60,000 chiropractors in holding “Healthy Heart Day.”
“Healthy Heart Day” will be held on Wednesday February 15th between 4pm and 7pm. There will be complimentary chiropractic adjustments, appetizers, music, and fun for the whole family.
According to a study reported in the Journal of Chiropractic Research and Clinical Investigation, chiropractic care does play a significant role in reducing cardiac risk factors. The study monitored the total cholesterol-lipoprotein (HDL) and cholesterol/HDL ratio or cardiac risk factor (CRF) in patients over a period of one to three years and found that there were marked reductions in the CRF of those who received regular spinal adjustments. Irritation in the upper thoracic vertebral joints has also been linked to disturbances or imbalances in the cardiac sympathetic nerve functions.
Healthy Heart Day is just one small way that chiropractors continue to promote non-invasive and naturally safe and effective drug-free healthcare options for families in their communities
